Sitti Samiha
Tatreez Revival was born from a deep-rooted love for the art of embroidery, inspired by my grandmother, Samiha. Born in Khobbeizeh Haifa, she lived there until her family was displaced. Later in life, she faced significant challenges but remained resilient, making a living by sewing and selling clothing. Through her hard work, she raised eight children and secured a bright future for them. Like many Palestinian matriarchs, she passed down the cherished tradition of Tatreez, teaching me the stitches and the stories behind each design.
My goal is to honour her memory by keeping this beautiful craft alive and accessible for all. Through this collective, we aim to create a space where the art of Tatreez can thrive and be shared across generations. By providing easy access to Tatreez kits and resources, we hope to inspire others to embrace and continue this rich tradition, ensuring that the memories and skills of our ancestors are woven into the fabric of our lives today.
